As a child, drawing was one of Jeanine de Hek's favorite hobbies. She continued drawing into her teen years.
This time in her life was followed by many years where drawing took a back seat to many other creative art forms.
Jeanine became a Christian and received a heart for evangelism.
After teaching for awhile, she went to work for a Christian organization, in a theater group that performed throughout Holland. Following that, she became a group leader for blind children and it was during this time that the call to missions began. She went to Amsterdam to work with Youth with a Mission.
After working for many years (in the Red Light district, with Steiger 14 - a youth ministry- and with drama groups), Jeanine suffered from burnout and had to stop. God then began a process of healing, deliverance and renewal.
In 2003, Jeanine attended a conference which had as theme: Creativity has to come back to the Church. During a time of prayer, God touched her deeply. She received such a clear sign from God that the next day she bought art supplies and began painting.
God is the source of her inspiration.
Sometimes through song, a Bible verse or a vision.
More than anything, Jeanine's desire is that her paintings will make known a love for Jesus, the love that comes from Him and the beauty of God, Who is the source of all creativity.
